What I’ve Done:

I remember picking my domain name.  I wanted it to reflect who I was but not have my name.  I wanted it to show what my blog was going to be about without being too blatantly in your face about it.  I tend to “ramble” about the Internet and I was an aspiring “work at home mom”.  So I came up with Ramblings of a WAHM.  My domain name was born.

I soon realized it was sort of a bad choice.

    Don’t use acronyms because not everyone knows and recognizes them.  But I figured if you were a mom looking to work from home you would know this acronym. It is long.  It has 19 letters.  That is not horrible but Corbett says in his latest MDBP to stick to about 12.  Basically,

How to Choose the Perfect Topic for Your Next Blog

The first step to creating an authority blog is to pick a topic.  Easy, right?  Not so much.  Sure you have a passion for what you want to write about.  But that is just the beginning.

Here are a few things to consider before picking your topic and creating a domain name:

Is there a niche for it?  Will people be interested in what you are blogging about? How much competition is there? How established is the competition?  Are they new like you?  Or have they blogged about the subject for years? Can you continue to write consistently on this topic?  Do you have enough content to keep your blog going? Are you willing to write daily, weekly or even monthly on the same subject? Thinking (and Doing) with Think Traffic

If you are active in the blogging world you already know about Corbett Barr’s Million Dollar Blog Project.  If not, I am here to announce it to you.  It is the buzz right now.  I even joined a great tribe of soon to be millionaires because of it.

Corbett Barr over at the most awesome Think Traffic is launching a blog project.  It is a biggy!  He wants to start a blog from scratch, monetize it and then make $100,000 a year from it.  Too impressive to ignore, if you ask me!

At first I read the post and thought, “That is so great, I wish I could do that.”

I read it again and thought, “Ok, I’ll follow along.”
