The WAHM Affiliate: 2 Simple Ways to Get Traffic to Your Blog

My last post talked about how to find affiliate programs and where to place your links once you are in the programs.  But I forgot to mention one very vital aspect of being an affiliate- you have to get great traffic in order to be a successful affiliate salemom and earn an income from blogging.

I talk about ways you can attract people back to your blog.  And then you can dazzle them with your writing and personality!

Check below the video for my past posts on this subject and more resources.

New! Thursdays Are WAHM Video Days

I really have been enjoying making and publishing simple videos using my iPhone.  I was apprehensive at first because they are far from the best quality but they are an efficient and thorough way to convey messages.

So I decided every Thursday would be video day.  I already publish posts every Tuesday and now I would like to add video to my weekly repertoire of information and fun!

The fun doesn’t stop there.  Send me your comments and questions about anything online WAHM, online income, blogging, social media and SEO.  I would love to talk about them in a video!  Send them to:

The Sisterhood of the World Blogger is 7 More Strong Today!

It’s official.

I am now a member of the Sisterhood of World Bloggers.

Receiving this award tells me there are readers of my blog that actually like what I am saying or doing.  So I thank Sonia from LogAllot and Julie from Learn, Grow and Prosper, for bestowing me this honor and letting me know someone likes me online.

I am going to take this opportunity to make a video using the newly discovered to me Animoto.

Yet before I show my super duper video all about Allie, let’s go over the rules of the Sisterhood of World Bloggers Award.  (There are always rules, aren’t there? Bah!)

Recipients need to thank the giver Post 7 things about yourself Pass the award on to 7  other bloggers of your choice and let them know they’ve been nominated Include the logo of the award in a post or on your blog

Those aren’t hard at all.

Zazzing Up My Blog with Video

(Is “zazzing” a word? It is now.)

This last weekend I realized I was a bit bored with my blog.  Not that I think I write about boring topics or I am boring but I just felt like I needed to liven it up a bit.  This is when I got the itch to make a video.  But not those boring talking head videos but one that has multimedia and sound effects and pizzazz!

OK, I’ll be the first one to admit this video lacks what many of us believe to be pizzazz but I think it is a pretty good attempt at breaking into making videos that are more interesting.  And not to mention its only 1 minute and 27 seconds long.  What a bonus for my audience, you don’t have to sit through 5-10 minutes of me talking about myself and my blog. (You can thank me in the comment section below, lol.)

So here it is.

Revitalizing Written Posts as Video

Breathing Fresh Air Into Old Content

Refresh Old Blog ContentMy dashboard stats tell me my blog is now 1.5479 years old now.  Let’s just say a year and a half old.  That translates to about 565 days.

In that year and a half, 195 posts have been published here.  Not bad for single blogger with a few guest posts.

195 posts over 565 days.  Even I can’t remember all of what I wrote.

So I decided for my last challenge video I would take a few of my posts I wrote last year and turn them into a video.  I’m hoping it will breathe fresh air into old posts.

These are the posts I pulled content from:

Hootsuite for Twitter

Hootsuite has been an indispensable tool in my social media toolbox since 2010.

I love Hootsuite.

It is first on my bookmark toolbar.

I use it everyday for Twitter.

I tweet.  I retweet. I reply.  I schedule tweets. All using Hootsuite.

I build lists.  I save my lists as streams in Hootsuite.

Hootsuite for Twitter

I check for retweets and direct messages to me.

I connect.  I follow.  And sometimes unfollow.

And all on one screen.

It saves me time.

Do you use Hootsuite?

If not, how do you manage your Twitter streams?
